SWIMMING POOL DONATED TO FOSTER
HOME
& COMPLETED IN FIVE WEEKS

FORT LAUDERDALE:  When Robert Allard recently toured one of Henderson’s foster homes, he knew immediately he could make a lasting contribution to improve the quality of life for the six teenage boys who call “Charlee House” their home.  As a leading pool contractor in South Florida, Robert was understandably saddened to see the boys had an above ground pool.  In his professional opinion, this was a situation in which accidents were just waiting to happen.

But Robert didn’t turn his head and walk away.  Instead, he decided to enlist the support of his loyal vendors and sub-contractors.  Determined and not accepting any “No’s”, Allard Pools and nineteen other charitable companies decided to volunteer their time, material and know-how to construct a new pool for the six boys at Charlee House.  The boys couldn’t be happier but they have had people make promises before that never seemed to materialize, so they were “cautiously optimistic.”

Any concerns were soon unfounded for within a few short weeks, the necessary permits had been received and the team was off and running.  Your pool contractor may not want to hear this, or if you have had a bad experience with installing a pool, you may want to skip this next sentence, but in just five weeks, the pool was completed, passing all inspections and just waiting the chemicals to balance before the boys were having their first swim in their new pool.

The corporations that contributed to this unselfish gift include:

Robert Allard Pools · Pilot Steel · Horner Equipment · Mike Condon Inc.
L W Rozzo · D. Mulberger · Karl’s Pumping & Placing · US Bobcat
Kash Enterprises · Portabello Tile · Tony’s Brick & Tile · Stone Age Pavers
Pool Barrier Inc. · Handy Pro Inc. · D&C Electric · Hayward Pool Products
CLI Industries · Blue Pools Maintenance Inc. · National Tree Trimming
Dwayne’s Sprinkler Service

The final chapter of this heart-warming story occurred the evening on Henderson’s 10th Annual Black-tie Gala.  When Diáne Johnson, philanthropist and fellow honoree to Robert Allard, heard about his efforts, Ms. Johnson generously offered to purchase a solar heater for the new pool so the boys could exercise year-round and get the most from their new pool!
